ICAP’s 15th Annual Charity Day on 12th December 2007

We are pleased to announce that ICAP will be holding its Annual Charity Day on 12th December 2007. On this very special day, ICAP offices worldwide will be helping to raise funds for charity, giving both the company and our customers a unique opportunity to “give something back” to society.

Last year’s Charity Day saw a record 7.1 million pound raised for our chosen charities in ICAP offices worldwide. Thanks to your generous support and participation, the Singapore office raised over SGD 500,000 for the Kidney Dialysis Foundation (KDF), Lakeside Family Centre, and the Spastic Children’s Association of Singapore (SCAS).

This year, ICAP AP (Singapore) has chosen the following two organisations as our adopted beneficiaries:

(i) The KK Hospital Health Endowment Fund (KKHHEF)

The KKHHEF provides financial support towards needy patients, as well as education, research and disease prevention programmes targeted at women’s and children’s health. Each year, more than SGD 1 million from the KKHHEF is directed towards helping patients, where it is hoped that by easing the financial burden of needy patients, their families can focus on the more important task at hand, which is to get the patients back on their feet again. The KKHHEF also extends support to patients suffering from paediatric cancers, women’s cancers, and women and children with HIV.

Registered as a charity in 2002, the KKHHEF is administered by the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. A board of trustees, who serves for a term of three years, governs the fund. The board serves in an honorary capacity and receives no financial benefits from the fund.

For more information on the KKHHEF, please visit www.kkh.com.sg

(ii) Down Syndrome Association (Singapore)

Since 1996, the Down Syndrome Association (DSA) has dedicated itself to serving the Down Syndrome community, helping to provide information, resources, and family support services designed to enhance the quality of life and helping ensure societal inclusion of persons with Down syndrome.

The funds raised will go towards the association’s Adult Enhancement Programme (AEP), which is a skills enhancement programme aimed at persons with intellectual disabilities who have graduated from special schools at 18 years old. The AEP seeks to enhance their skills at work activities, daily living and leisure activities, to help them be more independent and confident, and become a contributing member of society.

The DSA is a member of the NCSS and was granted IPC status in 1996. The DSA is a self-funding non-profit organisation. For more information, please visit www.downsyndrome-singapore.org

Every Deal Counts

We look forward to your support for this year's Charity Day. Your heartfelt participation will go a long way towards helping the less fortunate.
